Need NHL players?
J.M. Liles - 20min a game and 2:40 on the PP for the Canes, in 35 games he posted 51 SOG, 35 hits and 70 blocks.
Andrej Meszaros - Do it all type D who is a FA and could see a bigger role with another team. Looking for a 1st or good prospect.
Peter Harrold - Cheap contract and played 18:40 a game including 2nd unit PP and PK. Looking for a 2nd
Martin Brodeur - Looks like he plans on playing next year. Looking for a 2nd or equal value. (Can throw in his son too)
Taylor Pyatt - Depth winger who gives hits and a little SHTOI, looking for a 2nd.
David Jones - Secondary scoring and averaged 2+ SOG and 2+ hits a game this season.
Tomas Kaberle - Played great for the Czech Olympic team and only a matter of time until he returns to dominate the NHL

Sheahan is definitely in the Wings long term plans as a 2nd or 3rd line center. I think the telling move this summer would be if they don't re-sign Legwand. If Legwand is kept, then Sheahan probably starts the year in Grand Rapids. The Wings are getting some dead weight off the books this summer but they'll still have a lot of forwards in the mix. Alfredsson could still come back for another year. The only young players that are sure things for next year are Nyquist and Tatar. Jurco is probably back in the minors and like I said, Sheahan is a maybe. He'd be the first call up if there's an injury.

Its a shame jurco will likely start in the minors again. Even after losing some contracts detroit still has far too much dead weight up front.
Oh well. I dont need him to start in detroit. Just think he deserves it

Lots of interest in Sheahan and the return I'm looking for is a more established C and I could add picks depending on the quality. Still building for the future so would prefer 30 and under and salary isn't a concern so if a team is looking to add a cheap waiver exempt C for some cap flexibility we might be able to work something out.

ONE THING I will say is that DON'T miss out the small window of opportunity when Sheahan's value is at his peak - as Scott mentioned if he starts the year with Grand Rapids next year as the first call-up, his value goes back down

Sheahan + van 1st for Bolland

He is 22 and if he doesn't stick now his time is very soon, but obviously that is part of why he is available now. The Wings fan also calls him a 2nd or 3rd C so it's not like I'm selling an AHLer on a hot streak. If I don't get a good offer I can afford to be patient if he spends more time in Grand Rapids.
I just have other up and coming Cs (horvat, Namestnikov, Gaunce) and people value cheap and waiver exempt so seeing what's out there for Sheahan while "his value is at his peak" as you say.

Would consider at the draft when I know who is left on the board and hopefully what Bolland's cap hit is.

Oh yeah sure, he should totally make that trade.
Widen that gap between lottery teams and playoff teams. Exactly what the league needs.

That trade easiler makes my team weaker.

Seems like a perfectly valid reason to make the trade then.
Go ahead and post.
