As per Los Angeles policy i do not mention names in blocks.

If you need a winger please come talk to me. I'm looking for good young players and prospects.

kadri's been fine...hard to win when your goalie lets in 17 goals a game. Plus ROR needs to be qualifed at 6.5...PASS

I really like ROR, but for some reason what he does in game is not well captured in the BBKL. IMO RoR is a guy you win with, would love the leafs to pay him 6.5

i would love ROR on the leafs. He is actually one of my fav players...that said i can't afford to pay him 6.5mil while kadri is locked up at 2.9

?

they dont qualify him, he hits UFA....he can sign at any price, but why would he settle for less than 6.5...i woudln't...he'll get it as a UFA if the Avs dont pay him.

Unless the Avs trade O’Reilly before this off-season, they will have to give him a qualifying that at minimum is $6.5 millio, just to keep his rights. I guess O’Reilly could go to arbitration after this season.

a qualifying offer simply retains the player's rights. they can negotiate a contract before or after july at any price.

the situation in colorado has changed DRASTICALLY since o'reilly's holdout. he's said countless times all year that he loves being there. team is going to be good for a long time. it's not unrealistic at all for o'reilly to sign long term for less than 6.5

They need to sign that deal before June 15th (or whatever the date is) to qualify a player, or else ROR is a UFA on July 1st

The guy already held out since they wouldn't pay up for him. The chances he leaves money on the table when he knows the Avs have plenty of cap space I'd think is pretty slim.

O'Reilly remains unsigned beyond this season, but any tension between player and team has dissipated. Both sides have agreed to play out the season and revisit a contract this summer. He has a base salary of $6.5 million this season, with a cap hit of $5 million. If O'Reilly is unsigned into July, the Avs will have to give him a qualifying offer of $6.5 million to retain his rights, but that doesn't mean a totally different contract number can't be worked out before or after that date.
