penner is playing top line minutes between perry and getzlaf and is currently +18 with 17 points in 18 games with about 6 or 7 stpts. This is all at a cap hit of 2 million. I think people are going to be undervaluing Penner in this thread because of his pancake past. Just my 2 cents.
Was a pleasure doing business with you Dave. I hope Penner keeps up his play for you. I dont see why he won't, I've seen a bunch of him this year and he looks like a new player. Way more motivated.
*shrug*

Nothing wrong value wise for this season, but a 23 year old Hamonic has a much brighter career than a 31 year old who has only played now 20 games of good hockey in the last 4 years. Like Steve said a block would have been a good idea when moving a top pairing D on a good contract who contributes to as many cats as Hamonic. Perhaps he doesn't get an offer better than Penner + Fistric, but no harm in at least seeing what's out there.

My initial reaction too lol.
You, Billy and I all owned Penner earlier this year so we're probably all kicking ourselves once you see something like this posted. Good on Kyle for holding Penner till the right time to sell him.
I will say to Dave, this is not us trolling you. Nor is it people being mad because you didn't take "their deal".
BBKL is not a Yahoo league where a deal like this makes sense. Valuations are completely different. A good starting point is to always look at what players have been moved for in the past. But a lot of it is creating a ranking for players in your mind that falls in line with this league. Rankings that are significantly different than any other league.
It's not possible to do that without watching your team play for a while IMO. As you try to win weeks and look at your team, certain players gain value, while others lose value because there are really only 2-3 ways to build a contender.
