Washington Block
Tlusty- Top60 forward in BBKL. If you disagree, don't come knocking then.
Harrold - full time NHL D man, 2nd unit PP time, secondary offense and SOG stats. 1 hit 1 blk
Bartley - young, great story, kinda asian. 3 year deal and cheap as hell. Not going for crap, but I've had a couple GM's ask about him.
Open to moving/Neutral:
Kessel - I'd consider moving for the following: Very good NHL'er in return + elite prospects.
I can take back cap hit of about $2.4.
Prospects as always.

You haven't seen his numbers. His SHTOI is through the roof. His points are lower than his previous 40 point pace though. I think that will come around.

I have a significantly better offer than what's been posted here. In my opinion at least.
Selanne though I'd like to move, if you want to contend... fucking pay up futures who won't do shit for years (if they do)

I will be shocked if you get a 1st rounder for Selanne. He is a shell of himself and not worth any future that can make the NHL in the next year/will be waiver exempt/on an ELC.

Thom essentially got what he wanted, patience is key!

It was that or 4th liners... I hate 4th liners. My system needed a guy with boom/bust talent; the Khok gives me that.... i'd stroke that!

rinne will bounce back. Also, that cap hit wont even matter after this seasons done and the salary cap goes up for the forseeable future...

even if he does he will never be worth 7 million dollars. ever.
i love seeing these contracts blow up in GM's faces. fans hated on burke for never throwing them around to land FAs but i am so fucking glad he didn't now.

oh, I dont think he will ever be worth 7 million either. Just with regards to our league, his hit wont be so bad once we get that big jump in the salary cap ceiling after this season.
I was a fan who was frustrated the leafs never went after Kovalchuk (thank goodness? LOL). Other than that though there wasn't really many other FA I would give long term contracts to. I have to give burke credit, he set us up well and nonis has really taken the ball and run with it since it was handed off to him...
Burke still gave out some horrid contracts...he can't get a complete pass lol

Brad RIchards is another one we refused to pay up on.
Burke had his faults: Liles, Connolly, Komisarek etc. but he did a great job here.
Nonis has not had a misstep yet IMO. Every move has been right. I hope we continue on this road.

in the grand scheme of things the komisarek and connolly contracts are fuckin bargains compared to some of the shit other GM's offered just to secure big name guys.
i doubt even clarkson gets 5.25 over that term from burke. would've been interesting. i think burke throw maybe 5x5 at him and says "if you really want to play here, prove it."

yup, you nailed it.
Now, while I may have been super pissed we never got Kovy (worked out in the end) i was EXTREMELY happy burke never landed richards.
