no way Nonis let's Kessel walk as a UFA - that's career suicide. if he truly doesn't want to negotiate in season and doesn't verbally agree or imply he's sticking around he'll be dealt.
however, i highly doubt this is the case. im a firm believer kessel wants to say - he's just awkward as fuck and the media twists his awkwardness to mean whatever they want it to mean.
media: "Phil, what do you think about free agency?"
kessel: "Ahh you know uhhh, every hackey player likes the idea of being a ya know, UFA but ya know we'll see what happens right?"
media: "holy shit, he doesn't want to sign!"

i hope your right, i think nonis needs to be negotiating now. Kessel would be 'career suicide'
bob mckenzie even touched on this, said nothing nonis has done to this point would matter if he loses both dion and kessel to ufa.

No way Kessel walks. He will sign for between 6.5-7.5M. Us signing Bozak was a big part of that. And I think he's going to have a huge season this year. 50 goals are a possibility.

Most teams haven't begun negotiating with their UFA's yet, just look at the list of impending UFA's the next time you have a chance. David Poille mentioned it earlier in the summer, and I think it bears repeating, most teams don't want to commit dollars to UFA's until they better understand the cap situation next season, and let's be honest, just because Kessel says he won't negotiate in season doesn't mean he won't if pressed. If I were a betting man I would wager that an extension is consummated at some point during the Winter Break, likewise with Phaneuf.

Reilly's skating and smarts are NHL ready but be needs to work on his defensive, he blew his coverage on one of those goals the Philly guy beat him to the net and scored

I hope we keep Reilly in the minors.
Ranger looks good but hard to tell without a real NHL game.
Raymond looks like the definite lock for our team from this game. Our top 9 is seriously stacked.
