they made it sound like he turned down a similar offer to his contract last year (2.3ish) from the nucks to get more money as a UFA.


I guess the only team to offer anything was the leafs - a month ago, which was a PTO.

yup, and from the talk on TSN they said he's probably be used on the PK.

well he has been an effective pker for years in Vancouver so I would expect him to get some time in TOR as well. I am not the biggest Raymond fan, but this is a smart move by the leafs. Most definitely a great 3rd liner and can fill in on line 2 when injuries occur, if you guys get him @ 900K its an unbelievable steal.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will miss all of the Oilers preseason games and could be out until November.

Heard lots of rumours suggesting as much. At the annual Brindy golf tourney in CR that the Nuge attends this is back-to-back off-seasons where he could barely lift his arm. Not really a good sign so early in his career.

I don't think you want to rush Rielly period. He isn't NHL ready from what I have seen from him. Another year in Juniors is not a negative thing, look what it did for PieT's career. Imo you guys really need franson, let liles go to the minors and keep him.

Bob McKenzie said Kadri is asking for $7 million over two years while the Maple Leafs are offering $5.7 million over the same timeframe.

He's asking 3.5, we're offering 2.85 -> holy shit just settle. There is no principal reason not to. No positioning lost on the Leafs side unless this is the direct amount we need to save to make Franson an offer he'll accept.
