NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I think rask signing might be steep this year but if cap goes to 85 after 2 or 3 yrs, will be great value for one of the best young goalies in game.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I like this deal a lot for the oilers.
they need a guy like Perron who is strong on the puck and has the skill to play with their other talented players.
My bbkl team likes this as I can see him lighting it up on a more offensive system, with Perron's skill his point totals will always be on par with his linemates, which is probably in the 60-70 pt range in EDM.

7M will never be great value for a goalie, at best it won't be a cap killer, and just another inflated contract.CAM wroteCOLONI think rask signing might be steep this year but if cap goes to 85 after 2 or 3 yrs, will be great value for one of the best young goalies in game.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
In bbkl I agree but in real life I am totally ok with paying a goalie that much. No single player has a bigger impact on a game then a goalie and we saw rask's impact this playoffs. He would have been a conn smythe to his name if Boston had won the cup. Rask is worth every penny imo.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLON7M will never be great value for a goalie, at best it won't be a cap killer, and just another inflated contract.CAM wroteCOLONI think rask signing might be steep this year but if cap goes to 85 after 2 or 3 yrs, will be great value for one of the best young goalies in game.

I think Rask is a good goalie, maybe even elite, but I have a hard time justifying Rinne money to a goalie who has never played a full season, and plays behind the best defense in hockey.shooker wroteCOLONIn bbkl I agree but in real life I am totally ok with paying a goalie that much. Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I thought goalies were overrated until both of ours didn't show up to a game and I decided to strap on our 3rd set -- only to be lit-up for 27 goals in one game.
Shits not easy

Sensfanjosh wroteCOLONHonest question, but would any of you use Burmi over Jokinen, Little or Antropov?
Looking at his career offensive numbers there is some potential there but I don't see any big problem with asking the kid to play 3rd line minutes for a few seasons. If he doesn't produce or show much of an effort to justify a bump in minutes then I'm not sure if that's on the coach or perhaps is a case of a young player feeling entitled?
As far as Bogo goes, he had problems with the organization back in Atlanta as well, so again not sure if you can blame the coach for this, or if its problems with the players, the city or what.
I 100% agree with you. I hate when young players feel entitled no matter how talented you are. Logan Couture is a prime example. He was put into 3rd/4th line duty but played too well to keep him back and that was with much higher quality players in front of him. That is how you get ahead because if you are that good, you get ice time. Its definitely not by pouting and being a baby.
I loved Burmi, traded Pomonville + Grandlund for Burmi alone LOL... I believe the kid has star potential but how he went about this was totally wrong. I am totally ok if he stays in the KHL, his loss not ours as hockey fans lol.
well maybe kyles loss.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Meh I still think claude noel is a HUGE part of what went wrong with burmi. Respect ur opinion and perspective on the aituation Shook (josh too), especially as a fan of his. However if you don't hink he deserved top six time over jokinen and kiettenin and also wellwood last year you are crazy ! Also he was one of if not winnipegs best bottom sixers. Tough to show excellent offensive game when you play with tangradis though ;S, which is what he mostly had to deal with. He had a couple shots with kane and was actually one of his most effective linemates.
Just gonna have to leave it at that.
Burmi will never be traded though. As I've told a few people who inquired. Ill be going down with the ship or sailing into the sunset so to speak.
Fuuuuck. I'm still a little pissed about this lolol.
