I agree we got a point we didn't deserve, but we've left a lot of overtime points we did deserve up on the board too. We definitely control our own fate still, we don't need any one to lose games to make it we just need to win the ones in our control. Reimer though is starting to look tired IMO but still playing some fantastic hockey. A few more efforts like this by the Leafs though and we won't be making it, there aren't enough games left to keep up that kind of play.

Today killed my hopes for a Leafs playoff push. Not so much the fact that we lost as much as the poor overall play of the team. We really haven't played very good hockey for a while, but have managed to steal points from teams thanks to goal tending and timely goal scoring. That will only get you so far though, especially against good hockey teams like the ones that are forthcoming.

I'm still optimistic about the future, just don't think the playoffs are happening this season.

It's so much nicer...Today I expected nothing, and was able to enjoy a good game, even though we lost.

I still want to win every game as well, that doesn't change. But the nerves and unnecessary anger after every lost point are gone, thank god!

Still the joy of being in the race was sure nice. Not something we've had in a while, while this is more relaxing I'd rather be going nuts and have a shot.

So would I, but I don't ever want to cheer for a race we have a 1/100 shot of making...It's insanely stressful, and at the end of the day just not worth it.

Agreed, being able to do math is always nice.

Having said that, 3 games Buf, TBL, Car.. we win those 3 and we both know all a sudden your back on those few inches of your seat.

They can win all three in regulation, and I'm still not joining the playoff bandwagon.

tonight's game will pretty much determine if these leafs are really capable of elevating their game when it matter or just the same shit shows we've been watching since 05.

i honestly don't even care if we win/make the playoffs, i just want to see an honest and emotional effort.

You sir then were in for a treat tonight.
What a game and what an effort, I thought they'd drop for sure after letting in a quick one. But stormed back, and atmosphere at the ACC was unreal. One of the top 4-5 leaf games since the lock out easy.. great game.

Atlanta has now tied us, and NJ only a point behind, other teams made up ground while we were losing. Shall be a close race.

I'm probably the most critical of Phaneuf.

But he's really stepped up his game offensively since the Kaberle trade. 10 pts in his last 14 games and 3 goals in his last 9 games.
