What a headache this year has been with my defense...hopefully next year Ballard and Komisarek have places where they can play regularly again and probably aren't making nearly as much money. I have a pretty decent group of defensemen (when all the guys actually play). Tallinder has been a yo-yo as well. Thankfully Whitney has improved since getting regular playing time again and Gryba has been a pleasant surprise with all the injuries in Ottawa. Scuderi is a UFA also...curious to see how many of my guys change teams this summer.

Komi is a good #6 guy... At his cost, not so much.
I can definitely see him being claimed though. Carolina, Islanders, Avalanche, etc could all use him.

I'm pretty confident I'll have 6 (or 7) full-time defensemen by next year. There are just some guys making too much money that are still decent but aren't the players they once were that got them the fat contracts. Komisarek for around $2 million a year would be attractive to some teams as a #4 or #5 guy. My team is going to benefit from these potential buyouts.

His salary is 1mil less than his cap hit. So that is a tad more encouraging.
I haven't read anything about it, but I can only imagine he requested the waiving. Not only for the chance to get picked up but simply for the chance to play hockey even if it's in the AHL.

hE DId request the waive
i guess he even went in to sign all his documents (because of his NMC) so he could start playing in the AHL.

Marc Methot left during the second period Tuesday, and did not return. The Sens' did not give an update on his injury after the game, but one is expected Wednesday. Consider him day-to-day for now.
The list now includes: Kesler, Booth, Methot, Krejci, Malone, Bourque, Clowe, and Green...

Kareem - i sympathize with what u are going through. When I saw methot go down I chuckled to myself about how unlucky u have been, amazing that the sens are managing - no question for coach of the year IMO.

The Senators and Canadiens continue to baffle me, I have no plausible explanation for their success this season.
