It's all good man lol. Even though I feel like I should be there, I wasn't really expecting to make the top 20 with some of the people who were voting.
I still love my team though.

Honestly Kyle, you talked about wanting to make the playoffs as an 8th seed and your unwillingness to make a move makes me question your ability to analyse your position and others. Nothing against you, but I will say flat out that I didn't have you in my top-20 for that very reason. I don't know what kind of building you did prior to my arrival, so I didn't take that into account. I do wish you'd be more active as you have lots of quality pieces to build up into a playoffs team and perhaps a contender.

I'm actually going to just post that I'm truly honoured that some people had me in their top-20. I don't think it's deserving given that I purposely built down from what was a 7th overall team last year to a lottery team. Obviously, I have a plan to build up next year, but that's not necessarily a factor given the limited sample size of my managerial skills. Thanks to those who voted for me.

I did talk about wanting to make the 8th playoff spot in the East. I felt that I had put together a squad to start the year that would be able to challenge for it. I've battled through some injuries so far this year and a pretty tough schedule which have really taken a tole on my team. I've always maintained that I would never sacrifice any of my youth to make a run at that spot though. I'd much rather hold onto to my young guys like Burmistrov, Matt Martin, McBain, Bernier, Tarasenko, Scheifele etc. and let them develop on my own team, I'm in no rush.
Most of the quality young assets that I do have are very close to being NHL ready and to be honest, I'd much rather hold them until they are playing in the NHL at which point I can swap them into my lineup or flip them. It could be a risk as young players have high failure rates, but it's a risk that I am willing to take.
I think it is unfair of you to question my ability to analyse my position as well as the position of other teams around me, just because I am unwilling to make a shit load of trades like some of the GM's in here.
It's no big deal though, people used to criticize Hong for his ability to be a GM. He hasn't really changed the way he has GM'd as long as I have been here. Look at him now.
Cheers.
edit -- I just wanted to add that any quality piece you see on my team was added by me. The only ones which were not are Martin, Stuart, Halpern (just listed because he is a regular shift taker in the NHL), Sauer, Bud Holloway (does he even count lol? I just like the name)

I always reply to things sent to me. Not sure I agree with your rankings because they are slightly tainted by over-active managers on BBKL. I believe someone made the post earlier that BBKL activity = success. So true!
So why do i have to make a trade again? Is my team failing? I made all kinds of trades when i acquired my team to get to a point that I want. Isn't this a keeper league? Oh that's right, its a 1 year yahoo league....I stand corrected. Maybe I should drop my own apparently unsuccessful strategy now and listen to your advice on how to manage assets properly? I guess I should trade more if i want to climb the BBKL popularity ranks. For the record, I had you in my top 11. This is a general comparison of what i received and what I have. You FAIL in your analysis.

Do you honestly care what I think? Even I know that I'm an idiot.
I based my rankings on how I felt people ranked. Activity was a major portion of that for me. I'm not the only person to say that you don't respond to PMs very often, or say that you'll get back to someone and never do.

Toronto - Never seen him make a bad deal, foresight to stockpile picks and cash in
LA - Awesome GM, fair and nice to everyone. Overpays when he wants something, always helpful
Tampa Bay - Powerhouse GM, pays when he wants someone
St Louis - Good guy to talk to, very fair in trade talks
**Minnesota - Taking the league by surprise, has built a solid team.. from crap
New Jersey - Can flip from a stacked futures team to a #1 contender at the drop of a hat, but inconsistent in the direction of his club
Chicago - Killer deals, personally find him hard to talk to.
Ottawa - Nice mix of youth and vets
Washington - Kareem is a dick.
Pittsburgh - Flip flops like a pro, but makes a lot of questionable moves. Can afford to.
Columbus - Do they even have a GM? Bry was solid before he disappeared.
Montreal - Maybe a little too late to the race for 1st overall
**NY Rangers - More than willing to make an offer when someone asking for someone, which is more than can be said about a lot of GMs
**Buffalo - Not many talks, not many pleasant talks. Still done a solid job.
Boston - Solid team, but he should have that with the assets he took over. Loses points for his trading strategy.
**Phoenix - Questionable interest in the league, but nice to talk to.. if he ever responds.
**NY Islanders - Periph visonary, not active enough.
**Colorado - Has been solid in the past, not enough of a sample size
**Nashville - Has built a solid Euro-centric team... Impossible to trade with.
Dallas - Nice body of work thus far.
Your list is nothing more than a popularity list of which you are too insecure to admit that Scott & Kareem are essentially 1 & 2 because they make fun of you more than most. Boo hoo, Lee.

Mine is a popularity list? I don't trade with Mike, I don't trade with Nick. I've made maybe 2 trades with Shep. I think 1 with Hong. I just respect how they go about treating other people, which is another factor.
Chris, if you hadn't noticed, I tend to treat people how they treat me. There's a reason why I don't make many deals with you, Kareem and Scott. When you first joined the league, you weren't that bad. We actually talked quite a bit. And then you got this attitude.

I actually do. I have always thought you were a great GM. You were given the lowest shitball of a team and worked hard at getting it where it is today and didn't complain about it. I respect that.

Yeah Lee deserves some mad respect for what he's made out of a ridiculously bad situation in Philly when he took over.

That's why I had Lee in my top 15 IIRC.
