Arian The Insider wroteCOLONMain pieces:

Mike Richards - young nhl center.. might need an add depending on the center coming back
Alex Goligoski - good young d-man + high 1st/top prospect
Patric Hornqvist - prefer a straight swap for a forward but open to other types of deals
Nick Spaling - open to different ideas.. will not take 2 for 1 as i don't need extra players
Alex Killorn - straight swap for young nhl skater, position not too important

don't know if anyone really wants these guys or not but i have some ahl depth who see yearly call ups:

Mike Blunden - for a late pick any year
Chris Porter - see above
entertain me

conversation with arian:

GM - "i'm interested in player X"

Arian - "i'm not really looking to move that player"

GM - "but he's on your block"

Arian - "oh ya, what would you offer"

GM - "what are you looking for"

Arian - "i'm not sure, surprise me"

GM - "..takes deep breath..."

I personally prefer to express interest in a player on the block, put an offer on the table, and get a flat "no" in reply.

Makes moving on easy :)

Yep. there's a sizable group of GMs with next to no communication skills. In their head they've expressed what their concerns are, what they want, what they dislike, what they want to avoid (aside from Paul who is clear he no longer wants to be raped), some parameters they're working between and where the trade talks should go, but in terms of actually conveying that to other GMs they fall well short. Often sharing that same info with them is met with confusion or silence.
