shiv makes so many trades that depth only becomes an issue late in the year. If we keep having the trade deadline so late he has zero danger of injuries becoming an issue.

When do you suggest we have the trade-deadline this year?

Last Olympic year the NHL trade deadline was March 3rd, their playoffs started April 13th. Giving a total of 6 weeks of NHL regular season between those 2 points (where BBKL needs 5 weeks for playoffs). That's likely a safe approximation for their timeline again (dunno why but I couldn't find when this year's trade-deadline is planned for).

Week 21 is our last regular season week. Week 20 is likely where the NHL trade-deadline will fall. Always a risk of a goalie trade having an unfair and disproportional effect if it happens AFTER our trade-deadline, but... I still believe a more meaningful trade deadline will have a longer gap until the start of the playoffs.

I'd like to see 3 weeks of season after trade-deadline, 1/7th of our season roughly what is desired, and it should be a major push to make a decision,

a few hours after to week #18, or a few hours before Roster Lock #19, I'd open discussion regarding our trade deadline, it seems very early though, hahhaha: 2/3/14... but our playoffs do start 3/10/14

It was more in reference to last seasons joke of a trade deadline lol. I realize short year yada yada yada. I would like to see 4 or 5 weeks minimum prior to the playoffs, it forces hard decisions. Goalie trades are so rare during the season and are usually somewhat predictable. IE Edmonton with Roloson, CGY with Kipper etc. The unpredictable trades tend to happen in the offseason. I'd rather see ramifications to going all in and payoffs for proper team management, I feel the longer (within reason) the better for a trade deadline. If it is too short, it becomes kind of a joke.

Shook is as capable a GM as there is in the league... this time I think he's built a contending team of players he likes/values. A step more difficult and above just a contending team or one full of players you love.

If Raymond does well in TOR I'll have to get my mom his Jersey, LOL. Biggest Mason homer there has ever been.

On paper that's a better team than I'll be putting out. I'll be fighting for the 6-8 spot at this rate if you project a 5-6 finish for you

1) LAK
2) MIN
3) SJS
4) CBJ
5) CHI
6) VAN
7) STL
8) NSH / ANA

I put you in the playoffs.

You can take my spot in the playoffs since you're the best team in the league.
