The way I'm understanding the quote is they have a potential deal in place, but the recipient team has to deal with another player on their roster before making the deal.

That team is the Philadelphia Flyers and the player is Chris Pronger. Philly hasn't placed him on LTIR so his cap is on the books atm. Once they move him to LTIR they have space for Luongo's contract. Speculation is he wasn't on LTIR because they wanted to buy him out; and you can't buy someone out on LTIR.

Not to mention Philly are regretting ever signing Bryz and will be buying him out in the summer. The top 2 candidates to replace him that are being discussed: Luongo and Mason according to my buddy in Philly who's a die hard Flyers fan.

Honestly what I think the hold up is that Lou has to say yes and the other team has to do something. So who knows. I hope you are right with Philly, I would love Lou to go to a good team to finish his career. No idea what they would send back our way.

My guess is PHILADELPHIA and they have to find somebody, anybody, to take Bryz. Pronger to the IR frees up space, but they won't have Bryz and Luongo on the books.

Holmgren has proven to be a crazy ass mother fucker. If Luongo cost is "cheap" than he could afford to sell Bryz cheapish and break even at worse. More takers for Bryz IMO. Contract is shorter and it just isn't working out in Philly.
