1) Bernier isn't proven at the NHL level
2) Reimer is proven at the NHL level to suck tremendously, and get extremely streaky at the same time

Take your pick.

Neither goalie is proven and have very similar career numbers with a slight edge to Bernier.

The benefit to Bernier is higher end potential and being a high draft pick.

say what ya want but if he was on your team and you just signed him for less than what Wideman or Carle got this past offseason you'd be stoked too.

5 year ext for Lupul. $5.25 average salary. Ltd no-trade. Leafs can request list of 14 teams. #TSN

would have preferred a 3 or maybe 4 year deal for lupul but it's a fair average salary if he can keep up the play from last year

His play from last year is worth more, even a quick glance at players who put up similar numbers shows that. But Lupul also has a fair amount of character (doesn't need someone to take care of him) and perhaps is even part of Kessel's success!

Great signing IMO

More than anything I'm glad it got done so quickly. Rumour they were even talking only came out last night after the game. 12 hours later and it's done. Excellent news.

Was thinking 5x5 would be perfect. Obviously this isn't too far off.

if lupil does what he did last year that's a bargain contract imo. If he falls down to earth to a 60pt guy I think its right on par. So I do not see this as a bad contract no matter how you slice it.

I agree shook. 60pts in a normal length season is good contract at 5.25M.

PPG on a regular basis, costs ya more.

close to ppg is 7 easy lol. Hence why the sedins are on bargain contracts at 6.1

He'd have to completely fall off the map for this to be a bad contract.

Love the signing. Great guy, great player.

Or he'd just have to go back to being hurt for this contract to suck.

Dennis Seidenberg late scratch with LBI. Aaron Johnson in the lineup.
