I dislike the decision to send Rielly to the juniors, he deserved the 5 game try-out at minimum, IMO. On paper, this Leafs team might be worst than last season. We need a Herculean effort from the top line, and Phaneuf otherwise we likely finish in the lottery again.

I would assume this is Nonis plan. Short season, quick tank, add building blocks.

Although management would never admit it - short season, waiving vets, playing kids, no trade for #1G...we are in tank mode.

Considering the draft crop this year and the fact that no matter how you slice, success in a 48 game season will always be "tainted", i couldn't be happier with the direction Nonis is taking this.

If you are going to tank, this is the time to do it. quick,relatively painless, and with perhaps the best draft since 2003. timing couldn't be better.

We are definitely in "see what we have in the kids, and let the season play out the way it will" mode.

It was said Rielly was never going to stay after 5 games. Even if he made the team for the 5 games, he was getting sent down. Maybe he deserved to stay, maybe not. I'm not too concerned.

I'm with Kareem, i never cheer against the leafs.

And if the leaf goalies suck, we trade for Bernier this summer. He can grow with the team.

Bernier is in no way an upgrade over Reimer.
