Hahahhahaa well played my friend. My team was in the "running" as well but I say "running" because this was a little too obvious all along. Imo anyone who followed the story knew that he was going to be an oiler all along. Amazing skill to play with + amazing ice time opportunity + the location he wanted = no brainer.

It's a Leaf bash because the Leafs were a shoe in for Schultz for weeks and was just a matter of time. The Sens were never an option according to several on here after I mentioned it, that is until they were revealed to be on his list for the same reasons I proposed. Maybe Toronto isn't the center of the universe after all?

I agreeee!!!!!! Yet I was called an idiot on this site less than a week ago for stating that. Hence josh making fun of leaf fans

Looking through this tread you are both over-reacting like pre-teen girls. He had 26 offers and a list of 5. Toronto was in there and we wanted him to select us as the team he would join. That's not idiotic or dreaming, tor was on the list, and it makes sense to want a high potential player.

No one, not even us leaf fans, denied Edmonton seemed to be the destination of choice. Stating that there were strong leaf ties is also justified, no different than him being from BC - so Vancouver was in, or similar to Edmonton, the oilers up and coming blue line (even if I do believe it's grossly over-stated).

He selected toi and future potential of a few big names. That was better then developing on a contender (van) or stepping into nik's shoes (det). Many of us wanted him to Play next to jake again, didn't happen.

I still think choosing edm as a city to live in, given his other choices, is stupid. But hey, he also chose to live in Madison. Kid deals with lame.
