Man in all honesty, once I noticed Reimer isn't playing after Burke said he was the real deal lol. He probably isn't lying, but the fact that he's doing exactly the opposite of what he said he wud do, the tank mode was already under way. There are plenty of players he cudve called up besides Ashton imo.

Even as an emergency, if they were serious for a playoff push, I'd still think someone else would've gotten the call. But you're right, it is literally just an emergency call, and while they've decided to already tank it like I said before, why not bring up a fresh young'in with no NHL experience to just test him out?

The Leafs seem to like to give a couple of NHL games to prospects they acquire/sign the same year. (eg. Joe Colborne, Brayden Irwin, Christian Hanson etc.)
