Nick wroteCOLONHamilton had a bad game. Harrington saved that pairing in a BIG way IMO - and might have deserved POG - even though the nuge had big points.

Reilly moving the puck easily - looks like fowler did at WJC in 2009 - but needs to trust his skill a little more (took cam 3 games to as well).
I think our best 2 dmen were Harrington and Oullet, followed by Rielly. Rielly didn't seem to eat up a lot of mins but when he was on he made few mistakes. The only one i can think of is when he was caught out of position off a faceoff and the Germans got a good scoring chance. It's also not hard to tell Ray Ferraro hates the leafs. It's pretty shameful when this is about our country and the commentators show their dislike for anything leaf related. Like "I guess Rielly isn't going to get an assist on the Oullet goal, Hopkins did most of the work anyways" - even tho Rielly was the player feeding the puck to Oullet.

As much as i hate boston and the habs, i still cheer for Canada first, and was really pulling for Subban to have an outstanding game (even tho he was only ok).

I thought Harrington was our best player in the two pre tourny games and did he ever continue impress me. It is odd because I did not like him at all last year but I guess another year of development made him my favorite player so far. I was happy to see that the big line chemistry is picking up but my favorite line to watch was the strome line. I have never been a strome fan but I really liked his game today as well. I saw a desire to score that I always found missing in previous games I have seen him in, I guess I finally saw some of what Kareen always talks about.

Flaws for me were first and foremost Ryan Murphy. I felt his game was aweful in his own end and he always put himself in positions to get beat and did. I felt this was true about our whole defence other than Harrington though so it might be some of that Spott problem Anton was speaking of. I hope it is just the fact that they all have new D partners and that once they have some time together, that sorts itself out.

Overall a fairly good game for Canada and I hope we take the good forward and move past the early flaws.

Go Canada, fuck Russia!!!

Russians are pussies, i dont go to HFboards much anymore, but i stopped in today to read what they were saying about Nail's comments about Canadians.

Little Russian kid should shut his mouth, he plays hockey in a pretty rough canadian market (or soon too)

Anyone have a good torrent site for hockey? No TSN or DVR when I leave the parents place tomorrow...

It probably has more to do with their linemate but I'm excited to see Kuraly and Barber playing well today.

I'm back to work, anyone have a re-cap or on-going analysis of the USA - German game?

US looking real good. I'm actually worried. Jones is unreal.

They also seem to be playing much more like a team than us. Better on D in particular from what I've seen so far - lesser mistakes, better chemistry etc.

Team USA is dressing perhaps their worst roster in the past 5 years, I don't think they are a legitimate gold medal threat, barring an unreal showing from John Gibson. The real threats in this tournament are: Russia, Finland, and Canada, IMO.

I agree with you guys about Seth Jones though, I still view him as the top talent available for the 2013 class, defenceman are risky, but I think he is the real deal.

I agree with your team assestment Kareem. I think those three teams are the favorites. Finland has been my pick for Gold since before the tourney started, especially considering they are playing in the easiest pool by a wide margin which will help them substantially in the medal round. I will not put money on it or make any kind of bet as I refuse to bet against Canada. The same way I will not bet against my Canucks.

You still have to be a good player to look good with skilled players. They both had excellent games in their own right and should cause definite excitement for their nhl teams or fantasy leaugue owner.

Character building game - mark seems like a player you win with, rnh is sick, and Nathan needs more ice time - badly.

On d I think spott finally stopped throwing Hamilton out 24/7 regardless of his play, lots more oulett and Reilly, and still a little too much Murphy. Harrington is beast.

It was nice to see Morgan actually look like he does in the whl for a few shifts

Thank God he stopped force-feeding Hamilton icetime. He stinks.

I'm not going to lie, i've never really understood the Hamilton hype, IMO he's been our 2nd worst dmen behind Murphy (who is gawd awful). Our best dmen were Rielly, Harrington, Oulette and wootherspoon.

Our top line was clicking once again, i really liked the kids playing together on the 3rd line. Mckinnon needs more ice time, he's 10x the player McNeil is (who was also junk again)

I think Subban played OK again, nothing special, nothing too bad. Goal 1 was weak but the rest weren't his fault. However, his play to date isn't going to steal us any games.

I dont know how you can say wootherspoon was one of our best dmen, he was no where near murphy bad but he was still terrible. Loved the Strome/Drouin combo again. I always hated Strome but these last two games I have seen something that lacked in previous games Ive watched of him, he has been my favorite forward. Hopefully this brought Canada together.

Seth Jones in a beast. That is all.

I thought wootherspoon played a sound game. Tbh, i haven't really been too impressed with Reinhert.
