SuperMario wroteCOLONYou can't do any damage unless you make the playoffs. So, 16 teams will be ranked. 8 Teams from each Conference.
1. CHI
Reigning Champs will hold this spot all summer.
2. PIT
Out for redemption after coming so close this spring.
3. LAK
Best in the west on paper again.
4. OTT
Two-time conference finalist finally receiving due respect.
5. BOS
Makes less than 5 trades a year. But they are all wins.
6. WSH
New GM Thom has managed to do something most GMs fail to – keep a winner in tact.
7. TBL
All this team did was add Steven Stamkos and Sidney Crosby in the off season.
8. TOR
Jonathan Quick and Jonathan Bernier finally united. Oh and this team’s 3807643321495 injuries no longer exist.
9. COL
This is the team to watch in the west. Could shift the power balance in the West by playoff time.
10. CLB
This team was a threat all season without Sidney Crosby. What’s going to happen with Kopitar + Kane in the lineup?
11. MIN
Division champs added Alexander Ovechkin this off season.
12. SJS
This team may not have the close to the best roster in BBKL but it does have one of the best GMs. Always back the horse with the best jockey.
13. NJD
Staal brothers are together for the first time in BBKL history.
14. STL
Only a few moves away from catching up to the pack in the West. Having Mike Smith in net doesn’t hurt either.
15. MTL
Tore a 7th Seed down right before the trade deadline last season. Looks even better now.
16. EDM
No one is noticing this team. Solid Depth from top to bottom with superstars like Marleau and Pominville leading the pack.

Subban, Eriksson, Galchenyuk, Vermette, Van Reimsdyk
All added after that ranking lol.

Billy's team was WAY stronger then, coming off a conference final. Also this is in July lol. Right after the end of the season. Very easy to criticize them now when a full off-season of trades (which this time around went till January) + a season of unpredictability has happened.Nick wroteCOLONOTT @ #4 versus out of the playoffs?SuperMario wroteCOLON My rankings are very accruate for the most part.
CHI-town --> guessing he sold after? Although I thought he already had.
EDM & SJS, I believe missed as well
True though - given the distance from prediction to the sweet 16, lots of accurate calls.
