And you really think we are close to competing for a cup eh? I don't see the playoffs as being significant because we have no chance of competing with the big dogs. Probably a first round bounce.
Why not use our most valuable trading asset to try and improve us now AND down the road?
Once again, if the rumours are true (which they aren't as confirmed by le brun on twitter) why should toronto take the player that Boston wants to shed over their younger guys like Bergeron and Krejci? There would have to be a pretty good reason to move "superstar" savard over those guys, I mean fuck, that team is WAY closer to competing for a cup then WE are and by trading savard they IMO take a step backwards.
I find it funny that you claim we should stay away from Savard bc he is an injury risk, and than turn around and vouch for Bergeron.
I vouched for bergeron? highlight it for me champ. I was just trying to make a point that there must be SOME reason why savard would get moved before the younger C's. He's better then them all after all.

i've had a concussion before, you get over it with time....i've had lots of knocks to my head, and never had another.
I'm sure savard is fine
That being said, Burke was just on the Fan990 and he said he's pissed that this foolish rumour is floating aruond. Said that no deal was in place.
I guess both the lindros kids will be back in the NHL then. Just takes time to get over them...
Or tell that to all the old NFL vets who are all fucked up because of all the concussions they have taken throughout their careers.
Its also not like Savard has had just one lil minor concussion. This guy has been knocked SENSELESS a couple of times. He looked dead on the ice after the cooke hit.

Right here...

Your entire argument is based on a false premise, that Boston is looking to move Savard, and that Boston values Krejci and Bergeron more than Savard, neither of which you know for fact...

And there have been many who have come back just fine, don't generalize...Bergeron looked great this past season after a fatal concussion, and Savard looked fine after returning in the post season. Don't play doctor when your not...

lol fuck off kareem, that isn't me vouching for Bergeron. Your a smart guy too so you should be able to comprehend what I was fucking saying.
My post was based off the rumour that Savard was being shopped. I wondered WHY would boston shop a far superior player that will help their team more to win the cup NOW then trading one of the other, younger players. I then concluded that the reason they would shop savard before the others is because of his injury history.
I didn't vouch for Bergeron ANYWHERE. lol get real man.

You said that we should be targeting Bergeron and Krejci not Savard, one of those reasons was injury history, Bergeron has an even worst injury history. No matter how you spin it the comment was hypocrtical.

Cox: Kaberle sweepstakes heating up
The moment the 2010 NHL entry draft begins, the Tomas Kaberle trade window opens.
Not that teams are waiting until then.
Maple Leafs president/GM Brian Burke said Wednesday from Las Vegas that he already has “four concrete offers” on the table for the veteran blueliner, and that another eight teams have made initial inquiries.
“Once I get to L.A. for the draft, I expect things to heat up even more,” said Burke.

I'm calling his bluff. He's had 0 offers.

They are either being sarcastic or are idiots, I'm willing to give them both the benefit of the doubt...

A playmaking center capable of 70+ points annually is nothing to sneeze at, he's relatively young (30) as well.
Kulemin - Ribeiro - Kessel
Kadri - Bozak - Stalberg
Nice one two punch down the middle, and alot of creativity, that being said we would need to add a legitimate big man into that top 6, otherwise we risk becoming the Habs...
