The Devil wroteCOLONWell, team bulding 101. I bet 90% of the people in this league would LOVE to have Datsyuk and his 6.7 million cap hit. Now, Dats and Olli are about the same age. Olli makes less then half of what Datsyuk does. So it should make sense that Olli is less then half as good as Dats. FTR, 2 Olli's and a 700k player is far superior to Datsyuk. Now, I'm not saying I'd make this trade because in this league age is 1st and name is 2nd when it comes to making a trade.

But by your standards, Datsyuk's even worse then Jokinen is. In terms of value per dollar, Olli is better.. it's a fact.

you just proved yourself wrong.

1) no building team should want Jokinen because his trade value sucks. and he is too old to keep performing by the time the team is ready to compete.
2) no contender will have a roster spot for Jokinen.

the only teams who will bite are the teams who are neither building or contenders, in case of which Jokinen is a useless piece to pay for.

when you're building a winner, trade value doesn't mean anything. You underlined the reasons why I wouldn't make the trade... but I wouldn't want Datsyuk on my team either. He's shitty in terms of BBKL really.. you only acquire Datsyuk to trade him. I was simply making a point as to Jokinen being better of ANY team in terms of cap hit value compared to Datsyuk. You can take the extra 3.7 million and spend it elsewhere.. it really is that simple.

Datsyuk put up 30 goals, 80 + points, +20 AT LEAST, 75 hits, 700+ FOW, 30 STPTS.

He is an elite center.

he's great, absolutely! But his real life value is significantly better then his h2h value IMHO. Again, I'm talking Jokinen @ 3 million. He's much better then less then half of Datsyuk (if that makes any sense). Numbers are numbers.. this is a numbers league.. also, acquiring Datsyuk will cost you much ore significant pieces then it will to acquire Olli. Put that extra 3.7 million elsewhere is the key.
