Also someone said something about helping the bottom 5 teams out that wouldn't make much sense either, either you help everyone on an even basis or you leave things as is. Someone did mention a fantasy draft which would be cool also. But it sounds like for the most part it wouldn't happen anyways.

I wouldn't be down for a complete restart. All my favorite players on my fantasy squad don't even play for the damn rags and for me to acquire them, it would cost more now then it did when I first got them. I put in a lot of work to get them too....sooooooo yah, it would be AWFULLY frustrating to have to restart my entire fucking team from scratch and have to go reacquire all the players I like on my team.

Also, if we restart and everyones roster goes back to normal, we are still going to have teams at a huge advantage because of the pieces that they have that they can use to acquire players they actually want. Look at a team like Washington. He would have mike green, all the goalies (Haley, Neuvirth and Varlamov), ovechkin, semin, backstrom, alzner, carlson....if we restate how bout I get washingtons roster and you can have the ranger one Kareem? Look at a team like Toronto, mikes done a great job with that team and with a restart he would get stuck with a shitttttt roster. The sharks would prolly have a better roster with a restart too.

my rangers has dubinsky, Lundy and what, Staal and girardi? (and a few other decent periphary guys).

Fuck that.

PS. FWIW I knew I hadd no chance at winning the championship this year but I still had a hell of a lot of fun.

It's really not a big issue for me, if you wanted to swap the Caps with the Rangers I would not be opposed.

I think a fantasy restart would really get things and all gms posting more and really gain some more interest, obviously we are all interested because otherwise we wouldnt be here but it would be amazing to be able to choose your own team, maybe you get the teams minors system that you end up with but fantasy draft your nhl team.

Reading alot of posts, it seems like the "favorite player" angle is the big road block. I guess I will just have to agree to disagree, because parity and competitiveness are far more important to me, and contrary to Nick's claims you can't just build up a bad team into a good one. Bryan is an often used example, but a poor one, he was better (even at his low point) than at least 15 teams currently, and he is also one of the best general managers, period. To use him as the barometer for all lower end teams is flawed, IMO.

What i am for is the top end team (playoff teams) coughing up one of thier top salaries. BUT, doing that ... if a team makes the first round and gets eliminated (nick, pwned) .. lets say, every year... they are constantly coughing up players and getting nothing back. Not sure how that would work.

All that is going to do is create a teeter-totter if you will.

fantasy draft <--- someone will definitely be complaining about picking a guy too early / be complained at don't know how to pick. At the end the teams are uneven again..
complete restart <--- the nhl is uneven itself.. how much does fans in florida like their team? It's GM's knowledge and decisions that will make the team win.. Sure.. a real florida team would be better than the bbkl flyers/det.. but it all comes to smart GM-ing.. leafs sucks at the start.. but look how mike built it... how frank made the dallas competitive.. the west is stronger than the east in nba every year.. the west is also stronger than the east in nhl ... there will always be stronger and weaker teams.. if you are to tell me we will restart every twice a year.. then i would pull a shiv and not trying to rebuild...

i don't think this is "for the good of this league".. im sure there will also be equally as much GM lose their interest after a complete restart..if this league can restart for the first time.. it can restart again.. every 2 year someone can bring it up again and say there are very awful teams/very strong teams and needs a restart and it's going no where... i'd be first one to tell you im disappointed to participate in a 2 year league.

i have a bad feeling the offseason dilemma is starting already this year.... when's the coming entry draft btw?

I HATE that idea, this league is built on authenticity, nothing like that in the real NHL happens, I suppose you could compare it to FA, but the two are vastly different.

IMO this would take away alot of credibility this league has built up. I would support cutting the amount of teams in the league to 26 before i would propose a restart. Bottom 4 teams get dispersed. Sounds pretty stupid but why ruin an entire league of 30 teams because of say 5 teams that made stupid trades? If league parity is the main issue then other ideas might need to be explored to fix past errors. In saying that it would go against everything that BBKL is supposed to resemble. As close as possible to the real NHL in a fantasy format.

Open your eyes Kyle, there are a handful of teams that will ever do anything in this league, and at least half that are looking at basement dwelling for the very foreseeable future.
