Hey Guy's watch this
Re: Hey Guy's watch this
It is difficult to learn to speak/write any language but some languages have alot of similarities. Like if you know french it should be easier to learn Spanish or portugese. I've heard Mandarin is insane to learn. I have also heard from many different people that English is by far the toughest to learn for a multitude of reasons. When you are immersed in it in NA in our culture it may be easier even if you speak another whereas if you were to immigrate here it would be a whole different story.

Cantonese is a dialect of Mandarin. Writing wise, they are the same in terms of characters and what not. Speaking wise, there are minor/subtle differences. And yeah, its true. I speak fluent (kind of..huge accent that is noticeble for natural speakers) cantonese but I have no idea how to write anything except my name and the numbers and some simple words like "water" and "big" and "small" but thats it lol.facey wroteCOLONI don't think anything comes close to the chinese languages, Cantonese and Mandarin... they have 1000's of characters and stuff... they have different types of letters!!!! LOL but supposedly speaking is easier then writing, to the point that many natural speakers never learn how to write (I forget which language that is true for).MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONAnd you would lose that money, English is universally thought to be one of the hardest languages to learn, not so with french.fedro91 wroteCOLONI agree that writting something in your 2nd language is harder then speaking it. But I would still put my money on English being easier to learn how to write and talk then French.

hmm mandarin isn't that tough to learn (though im still learning...) , a lot of the foreigners speak nice mandarin , in fact, cantonese is really one of the toughest language (to speak).. it's easy for us cantonese to learn mandarin, but not for people who speak only mandarin to learn cantonese...... but yes writing is tough...
