thats what I was thinking as well Scott, good call... Looks like Kadri most likely not getting into the series, and a big difference in goaltending though I like Francouz a fair bit more though than Kuemper. Cirelli's shutdown game right now is incredible, he will also be a key going up against mac

Avs in 6!! I could see TBL lasting until 7 or even winning it but Colorado are currently outplaying every team they have face. Will see if Tampa can folliw their pace. Vasilevsky better be ready to compete.

amazing how I hold on players like Manson, Nichushkin, Vatrano cause I know they are better than that (than what they were not doing), then when I'm eventually forced to move them for cheap because of the numbers game on my team they resurrect and start contributing 100 times more (or in the case of Nichu, an infinite amount of times more)

Game 3 is basically the series...if the Lightning can't flip this series around at home and find a way to counter that speed...this might be a sweep. What a difference it would've made if the Lightning had stolen Game 1. Game 2 was a decisive as you can get but that would've been a successful split for the Lightning either way.

Players can look completely different if put on the right team. Unfortunately for players on bad teams...that can't all go to the Avalanche. Friggin' Darren Helm has turned back the clock in Denver now they can go back to using his speed and he's throwing his body around. He was an effective checker in Detroit for several years and then Kenny decides to pay him like he was a second liner.

The Avs clearly have a type...Cogliano and Helm would just be guys on other teams but you put them on this team with so much speed, they fit hand in glove. The Avs have clearly figured out how to build this team around their speed and skill...just needed those last few pieces to round out the lineup.

Nichushkin is fascinating...he was always considered to be talented but he looks switched on with the Avalanche. They'll have some interesting choices to make in the offseason but lucky for them, they'll have plenty of money to spend.

it's just curious how faster some players look after they join the Avs

It's one thing to just be a fast skater...it's the decision-making and processing a play while traveling at that speed. That's why guys like McKinnon and McDavid are so frightening to watch because they move so fast and they can make plays at such a high speed.

A great forecheck basically makes an opposing offense have to play defense of the puck and it takes them from being on the attack to just protecting possession. When the Avs forecheck with pace, you force other teams to make decisions faster and process a play faster. Mistakes and turnovers will happen because either the player panics and makes a mistake or they don't have enough time to find the play to advance the puck.

Looks like I called it right with avs in 6. They truely deserve it, extremely happy for the Avs.
