I'd likely go Hanzal mainly due to not having great C options, but Wilson has a lot of value too.

If Wilson can ever break out offensively and be a 30 point winger, with how many periphs he gets he would be a monster

that 10% is big! it's the difference between a good team and meh team!

I'll admit I did very little research into the mock compared to what I'd do if I were really drafting, kinda just went from the hip mostly. That said I'm curious which picks we differed on so I'll do a comparison later today and see if I can justify going the way that that I did or if I really just messed up.

So I had a look at the differences between our lists out of curiosity, it seems largely I went for youth and guys who were waiver exempt. If I hadn't missed Hanzal in WSH's list I would probably have picked him instead of Vatanen. Here's the comparison of differences otherwise.

I like the forwards for this team. The defense and goaltending is meh.

goaltending is definite weak point but I think the Defense is solid. Good mix of young and vets; better periphs than scoring. If it makes you happier trade vatanen or Greiss for Hanzal.

hanzal is good 3C but no better imo on a good team.. i'd take a potential starter

Is Howard gonna get the lions share of games in Detroit again this season? Mrazek didn't do so well last season.

Another option could be taking both elliott and Johnson and ending up with an 1A and 1B goalie for the same NHL team (calgary). And then a 3rd young prospect goalie w starter upside. That way he locks in 82 gp.

Manning, really? Like other mock as well that forward group is pretty bad. Surely Tony has better assets available than Manning as well. Goaltending is also pretty weak with 3 likely backups.

Ya Howard is another good option... I'd say between him and Johnson... just thought Brown offered more value vs whatever was left from whoever own's johnson's team.
