Only 3.5 back of division leading Tampa though. AL East is bad and still a decent chance they win it. Sanchez is starting to look good and if we had Stroman we would be the favourites, losing your best pitcher sucks.

AA with an amazing trade. Don't care if we move Hoffman/Pentecost/Norris/Pompey/Reid-Foley/Alford for pitching help now. No one in the East scares me and if they can get in the playoffs who knows what can happen.

Yep Tulo+Hawkins for Reyes+Hoffman+Castro no money changing hands...that is quite the contract and injury history to take on as well. I'm just glad it is Hoffman rather than Norris going in the deal lol!

naw man, you gotta keep at least Norris. Young cost controlled arm that can be here for a decade.

It's not like this core is magically gone at the end of this year. Can always just sign some great pitching in the offseason.

Hawkins is like 42 yrs old lol. Hes good for a year. It's a slight overpayment for tulo who is a stud when healthy but has his fair share of bang up history as well.

And who were we going to get? There isn't really any young arms out there with term left on their contracts that are available. We went after carasscco and they turned down a big offer from us.
