I took Rielly too in a few lineups. I almost always pick 2 $3000 D-men. They are such a crapshoot anyways, outside of Subban pretty much but he's like 3x the price, not worth it.

shep, i usually spend about 3-4 on my d. sometimes ill take a karlson or subban but its usually a waste. Try to keep it under 4.5. Forced too usually because of all the money i spend on the more consistent scorers up front

The one thing I've definitely learned is don't feel forced to spend all your money if you like your lineup. I've cashed with over $1000-3000 unused because it was the lineup I was confident in.

thats a good point. Im still new to this so have only cash a couple of times. Most times I spend close to the limit or have like 500 left lol.

i need some work on my football strategy, or i just maybe need to do more research. A lot of football seems to be matchups.

baseketball ive some ideas...will be interesting to see if i can do anything. tonight i made 2 horrible picks or i might have made some cash in the nba.

also when you can get guys like yandle, oel, shattenkirk, pietro etc for liek 4.5 or less its crazy not to take thatvalue imo.

Exactly. Always saying I take $3000 is a lie, but I take those studs for sub-$4500 all the time.

Yeah saw that, actually helped me.

That shutout was huge. May have earned me another $10 on the night, depending on the late game.

do you play the big player pool, small entry fee tourneys shep? Those are my favs. I cant bare to risk 10 dollars to make like 9 or whatever in a heads up or 50 50.

im talkin the 1k-2500 player ones.

Ugh, I could have crushed tonight if Patrick Kane wasn't so terrible in their 6-5 win.

I'm still getting the hang of everything, but I'm trying this strategy right now for hockey (tonight's entries for example)

4 $2 entries in $3K Tue Breakaway

1 $2 NHL Salary Cap 55k Tue Oct 29th (100 people)

2 $5 Double-ups

1 $5 Triple-up (I prefer these to the Double-Ups but nothing else opened up when I was registering)

I try to go about $25 or so per night for hockey.

As of now, I'm going to be -$1 for the night. Maybe lose a bit more depending on the LAK/PHX game tonight.

I try to stick to the $2 tournies, $5 double-ups and triple-ups. Throw in the odd 20-100 person tourney, usually $5.

I just hate entering the $1/$2 small-person games and having my team go off and being pissed for not going into a bigger tourney. At least if I hit a nice team in my $5 triple-up, the $15 feels like a decent profit compared to hitting in a $1 50/50 and getting $1.80.

How'd you end up finishing up Shep?

I came in 31st of 1676 in the tuesday breakaway. Won 16$. 60.4 pts with Vanek and Kane putting up .2 between them. damnit...

I had JVR and kadri in my lineup to begin with but then I made some changes lol. Oh well, ill take the 16.

Almost up a full 100 profit now :)

Turned $10 into $18 last night. I think the best thing to do is the 50/50s + the Double Ups.

if you are willing to drop a lot of money on a h2h or a 50/50 then yes. If you wanna build your bankroll up with small entries, I disagree!

If I stopped wasting money on the NFL every weekend (hahaha) id be up like 130 dollars just playing the big field tourneys. When your team goes off, you are gonna make some cash...

Yeah but it's also much harder to win those. I'm sure you picked good teams but I think you finished 3rd in one? To do that out of 1000+ people requires some luck. But if you keep repeating that success it's hard to argue lol. I just think it will take me 40-50 tries to get a top 5 finish.

here are my following cashes...

3rd out of 1397 ---- 90$
4th out of 558----25$
31st out of 1676 ---- 16$

Ive entered in 18 hockey tourneys (about 16 of the big ones)

NHL Salary Cap 55k Tue Oct 29th $55k 51.4 (5 of 100) Tournament $2 $12

$3K Tue Breakaway $55k 55 (81 of 1676) Tournament $2 $10
That's what I cashed in last night. I ended up -$3 on the night. Oh well.

I'm going to be pumping $22 into tonights. Likely $5 triple, $5 double, $5 double, 3 $2 entries into a tourney.

I have 50/50's because of the 10% rake and the fact you don't double up. I much more enjoy having to come in the top 45% instead of 50% and get a real double up.

The big tournies are a huge crapshoot. Less than 10% get paid and like 2% gets anything noteworthy. I want to build my bankroll and start playing the $10-$20 double/triple/quintuple ups, along with H2H and 3-man tournies. That's where the "pros" make their money.

nice we both cashed in the tuesday breakaway.

I agree with you guys about the tournies being a big crapshoot. I just feel so far it's the way for me to play atm. If I had a lot more money to throw around I too would be playing those double and triple ups like you and Shiv do. I just dont want to lose like 10-20% of my bankroll in one night ;).
