I don't think I'd classify Mike Richards as a true #1 center. And 9 years at a 6.67 cap hit for a 32 year old Brad Richards is crazy..not exactly lighting it up/performing like a #1 center either. I'm glad we didn't get him.

Not saying Tyler Bozak or Grabo is better than Brad Richards but...
Tyler Bozak (PPG): 0.71 - on pace for 58 points over 82 games
Mikhail Grabovski (PPG): 0.74 - on pace for 61 points over 82 games
Brad Richards (PPG): 0.69 - on pace for 57 points over 82 games

Mike Richards lead the Philadelphia Flyers to the SC Finals a couple of years ago as the teams #1C. You are insane if you don't classify him as a top line pivot...One bad season does not define a player. The same goes for Brad Richards, both of whom play on two of the lowest scoring teams in the NHL I might add.
