Aaron Portzline @Aportzline

#CBJ get a 2nd round pick this year (prev. Ottawa's) and a 5th in 2013, which goes to a fourth if Coyotes win a playoff round

Aaron Portzline @Aportzline

#CBJ also get G Curtis McElhinney in the deal.

CBJ trades Antoine Vermette to PHX. #tsn
McBackup, 2012 2nd rounder and a conditional 5th that becomes a 4th if Phx wins a playoff round for Antoine Vermette.

Typical Coyote.
good trade.

I think it's a pretty fair slight edge to CLB type return... In real life anyway. Vermette wud be worth a bit more in BBKL is all.

I'm on my phone at the moment but ya, I haven't looked at Vermettes stats this year - but I'm sure he's not on pace for 80 pts or anything this season... And proven nhl guys have gone for post-1st rd picks before... CLB actually got some depth in return for the single player in Vermette, who's not exactly a stud. I'm sure they were happy enuff with their return too. We will be the hard critics that always point fingers at real life deals because it doesn't match BBKL values/standards in certain players, but what was really expected of them? Get Hanzal back or something? When teams like CLB trade at this point of season, it's not like they're looking for an upgrade of a player they're shipping out. I still am saying CLB couldve gotten better, but this is their idea of the depth return they hoped for.

Ruutu is a pretty nice piece IMO - big fast, extremely physical, defensively responsible with 25g+ offensive capabilities.

lol the vermette deal was fair.. what people forget is that it's real life and not bbkl. there's something called free agency.

he's still a very replaceable player and it's not like columbus is going anywhere.

He's still young and can contribute offensively. Only 2 seasons removed from 65 points.
