I tried getting into The Wire about 3 times now ... I get through two episodes and am bored to death. I know it picks up, but I don't enjoy cop/detective shows to begin with.

I am the same way with The Wire, just can't do it. I am also like you and find cop/detective shows pretty meh. It's probably why we both dislike one of the most popular shows in this thread lol.

I just wanted to let everyone know that you should watch the movie Place Beyond the Pines. Just watched it last night and thought it was fucking incredible. First legit movie I've seen in some time. Stars ryan gosling, bradley cooper, ray liotta, eva mendes and a lot of other familiar faces. Go watch it if you haven't already.

I started watching The Wire, Kyle. Great show. Glad I took the time to get into it. And agreed, it's so much more than a cop show.

Also, Place Beyond the Pines was a great movie.

Really liked it too. That kid in the 3rd act was excellent.
