Ryan McDonagh was run from behind by Andrew Ferrence in OT. McDonagh stayed down for several minutes before being helped off of the ice, he did not return.

It was a dirt bag hit. Looked like a stinger, not head/neck injury and no awkward bend... maybe groin or knee though, left and right pointing opposite directions.

I agree completely Nick, it was disgusting to hear the Bruins announcers try and justify the intent of the hit afterwards...

As for the hit, it looked like the knee to me, the funny thing about hits like that is that you don't even know the knee is hurt until a little while after because of the stun of being run into the boards, and sometimes the immediate pain elsewhere, in this case the head.

Yep bruins announcer tried to blame McDonagh... and say Ference thought he was braced for hit/had the angle...lost his balance... in truth it was a direct run from behind with speed, i expected 2+, 3 min, 5 would be nice to see.

I'm guessing it was Jack Edwards if it was the bruins announcer.

Shouldn't expect anything less from that guy. He makes Chuck Swarski's homerism look like nothing.

Surprisingly, it was the Bruins color commentator.

The Boston Bruins fan-base has always been a loud and boisterous one. It's only been lately that I have noticed a very tangential persecution complex coming from all sides of that team -- self-entitlement, arrogance, etc. They did win the Stanley Cup and rightfully so -- they had a stout defense and historically dominant stretch of goaltending that we will likely not see for the next few decades. It's just remarkable to me that Bruins fans spent the better part of the last few years trying to get Julien fired, only to have him coach a team to the championship, and then focus their angst and the brunt of all their insecurities on other teams and fan-bases as if we need to be taught something.

So fuck them. I hope that entire fan-base (Kyle and a few others notwithstanding) gets a disease that isn't fatal, but very painful and embarrassing.

B's are my second team and have been since '93, but I find most fans in the New England area quite obnoxious. Look at Sox fans ... ick.

Briere and E. Kane concussed today. Jagr aggravates groin injury.

Ference gets a phone hearing so no more than 5 games, probably 3 games I'd say.

when you look at the standings, i think that's actually a very smart move :)

edit* talking about Lebda addition, not Nikitin injury.

Yea, losing Nikitin really hurts me. He has been a beast for me even while playing on the worst team in the league.

The Dallas Stars on Monday signed defenceman Alex Goligoski to a four-year contract extension worth $18.4 million. Goligoski was set to be a restricted free agent at the end of this season
4.6M Per, expecting his scoring to return me thinks.
