Phil needs some love...too much Texier talk. Fun signing to have Kessel go to Vegas. The Pacific Division will be very intriguing.

It'll fun to see Vegas fall out of the playoffs once again.

Since Calgary doesn't want to fade into the good night after making some bold moves...the Pacific is going to be a tougher division to crack the top 3.

The Kings are only going to get better. The Ducks will be on the rise soon. Vancouver wants to be competitive. The Golden Knights without Lehner and still being in cap hell is going to have a lot of challenges to get back to the playoffs.

I'm speaking more in terms of pecking order in Europe. Not exactly a top tier league compared to Liiga or SHL or the Czechia league or the Swiss league or even the German league.

I did notice that Grenoble was the league champs last year...Texier hometown for what that's worth.

The Swiss league has been a landing spot for a lot players. You even had guys like Mason McTavish playing Switzerland on the year OHL didn't play.

I Also notice that Grenoble was last year champion and it could be an option but I agree that the Swiss league would be better for his development. You can’t forget the time Austin Matthews spent in the Swiss league!!

there seems to be some misunderstanding going on in North America about the current level of Euro leagues:

even more so in the upcoming season (with the expanded contingent of imports), National Swiss League > Liiga and Extraliga easily

Surprised by liiga (not so much by extraliiga). But I guess it makes sense that more north Americans would be interested in living in Switzerland rather than Finland.

Vegas acquire Adin Hill in return for a 4th round in 2024. Not sure what to think of this move since I own Thompson but I am quite happy SJ got rid of a goalie since I own Kahkonen. It’s definitely a win/win deal for both organizations.

How much more would it have cost the Sabres to actually wait to see if he can actually follow up his 38-goal and 68-point season?

Good on him for having a strong season but this is risky for the Sabres to sign him before you see his follow up season. Granted, Okposo's money is off the books after this year...somebody on that team needs to make money I suppose. Skinner got $9 million from the old GM but he at least has some seasons of production under his belt.

Not my team, not my money...

I think Thompson is going to be fine with Vegas in the long run. Maybe Hill cuts into Thompson's play this year but Kahkonen will benefit from this in San Jose. In the long run, you've got two pretty solid goalies with a lot of hockey ahead of them...I'd say be patient and let it play out.

I agree with this sentiment. SJ definitely made the correct choice by keeping Reimer over Hill if they beliebe Kahkonen is their guy. Having a vet goalie show you the ropes will be more crucial to his development then the battling with Hill. Definitely not saying Kahkonen is the sure fire starter but I do think SJ strongly beliebe in the kid. On a side note to Thompson, since he’s still waiver exempt he’ll probably gona start the year in the minor unless hill is not ready to play.

Will be interesting to see what happens in VGK net. Is Thompson still eligible for the minors? Impending move of brossoit? Having 3 goalies around is the worst.
