Honestly a fireable offence for Hextall if they let Malkin walk, he's not washed, the guy put up 42 points in 41 games after coming back from knee surgery and anyone they replace him with will be worse and more expensive.

Ya now the irrational Leafs fan inside me has to try and look at the positives. He is two years younger than Campbell and maybe signing Campbell for his 30-35 years at more money when he has 100+ GP would end poorly.

Definitely not the result I was hoping for, wanted 50% and at 25% expected better assets. Dubas put his job on the line with this trade and the bias for former Greyhound players could be his undoing. Sure Keefe coached him and he was good, but that doesn't mean he is the same goalie today.

I hope it ends up looking OK and everyone always says goalies are voodoo and I think team defense has a huge impact on goalie stats so it wouldn't come as a complete shock if Murray on the Leafs outperformed Campbell on the Oilers.
