Sad, but definitely at least out long term and will likely never be the same even if he does make it back. Could be the end of a HOF caliber career.

Backstrom have always been one of my favourite player ever since he has grace the nhl. One of most underrated playmaker in recent memories. Hopefully he does comeback and play at least one final season.

Heard that the surgery he is having was also done on Jovanovski back in the day, who came back and played 35 games and then retired. Good chance that he will be done, unfortunately too soon for such a good player.

The coaching vacancies keep filling up...or at least we're finding out which interim coaches are retained. Woodcroft stays but Derek King and Brunette are replaced.

Are we down to Winnipeg and Detroit? Seems plausible that Yzerman probably wants to talk to Lalonde off Tampa's staff and it's possible that can happen if tonight's the night for the Avalanche.

It was kind of funny that the Red Wings social media posted a congratulations montage to Seider winning the Norris and randomly Sergei Fedorov was amongst the people sending selfie messages. Lead some to speculate he is a candidate...I'd at least hope the Red Wings re-establish a relationship with him and they eventually retire 91.

I’ve heard that Fedorov was among the potential replacement. Fedorov is my all time favourite player. He’s such an anazing talent on and off the Ice. It would be awsome if Yzerman could bring him back!!

Alfie finally makes the HOF!!!

I have no issue with Alfie making it but how can Alfie get in before Alexander Mogilny.

Mogilny did manage to win the cup and posted more goals in less games. Just feel weird seeing One in but not the other.
On a side note I wanted to congratulate the Sedin Twin and Luongo on getting in the hall of fame.
