They lose Blackwell in the draft and move out Buchnevich...they add Goodrow and Blais. That's a good start for a checking line. Kakko and Lafraniere should be capable of replacing the loss of Buchnevich's offensive output. Opens up a top 6 spot on the wing for one of those guys.

EDIT---The Coyotes are getting the Canucks 1st along with bad contracts (Beagle/Eriksson/Roussel). They are getting back into the 1st round and they are jumping both feet in with acquiring contracts.

Ekman-Larsson is going to be a tough contract later but I think they're better off with his cap hit than having Eriksson sit in the press box. From a fantasy perspective...I'm certainly intrigued what he does with the Canucks. I wonder what Garland will get on his new deal?

From a Coyotes' perspective...they've added draft picks after getting crushed by the Chayka penalties but they're going to have a poo poo roster. Is Ladd and Eriksson their new Datsyuk and Hossa? Seems to be they're driving this thing into a rebuild.

Yes he dumped 3 bad contracts, but Erikson, Russell, and Beagle all had 1 year left on them.

And he acquires 30 year old OEL for 6 years at 8.25M instead. Hopefully he can turn it around.

I like Garland, but Benning isn't great at contracts, as seen by the 3 signings he is now dumping, so hopefully Garland doesn't get too overpaid.

And their goes 9th overall...

..I think ARZ should have retained 1.25M on OEL

Is it that bad? I quite like it. But tbh I haven’t watched OEL much… has he slipped? Tough to know where he was at mentally playing in the dessert. Maybe the sedins will power him up
