Even if the Sens ate half in a trade, that's still probably more than what he'll get on the open market. A cheap one year deal...I'm sure a playoff team would give him a shot.

Last year's team was more prolific in the regular season but this year's team was built to win in the playoffs. Guys like Maroon, Coleman and Goodrow were such smart additions. Skill and speed is nice but you some toughness and edge to balance out the lineup.

Tampa is elite top to bottom.
Great 1st liners
Great 2nd liners
Above average 3rd and 4th liners
Pretty elite top 4 dmen
Arguably the best goalie of the current generation.
Could see them taking a few cups in the next half decade like Chicago did a few years ago.
Congrats tampa.

Back when Bishop was still there in Tampa, Vasi did not look nearly as good as this year and last. Crazy how much playing time, and playing behind a good team, can accelerate a goalie's development. I'd absolutely love playing behind the Tampa team right now.

They've got $5.3 million under the cap with Sergachev, Cernak and Cirelli due new deals. McDonagh and Hedman are the only two regulars on defense that are signed. Someone is going to have to be traded for that to all work. So many of their supporting cast up front make $4-6 million and a lot of that group is getting near or past 30.
All championship teams can't maintain the exact roster in the cap era...this was definitely the year to get their title with a few key guys still on ELC. I certainly see them as perennial contender for the next handful of seasons if the keep the right players on board and they stay hungry.

Wonder where Pat Maroon signs. Can he go b2b2b?

Yeah going to be very interesting to see how much of this team Tampa can keep together, Vasilevsky's big extension kicks in next season and they have two more years of Point on that sweetheart deal. That said they won almost entirely without Stamkos, so if they're smart they could still be strong for a while yet

Really, they should trade Stamkos and T Johnson then call it a day. Fill the holes and go for round 2.

These buyouts are really annoying. Ryan and now Hank? There goes 15 mil out the window. Fuck sakes.

You will be able to find cap money this offseason, I wouldn't worry. If anything you might be able to move Ryan or Lundqvist to another team for futures when before teams wouldn't want add guys like that at those previous salaries. This league is afraid of players over 30 and they're very afraid players over 30 making a lot of money and aren't what they used to be.

I hope Hank lands in Tampa (trade Mcbackup) or in Vegas. Hell, I'd love for him to platoon with Campbell in Toronto if they ship Andersen out. I'd buy that Jersey.

Hank can definitely be a good 1A/1B goalie. I hear more and more talk of there being additional back-to-back situations in the next season so I don't know why any playoff or contending team doesn't carry a competent pair goalies. I think that's a big reason the Canadiens got Allen. I don't think you want a lot of cap tied up in goalies but I think if you've got two solid goalies, hang onto them if the money is right.

Yep. If hank still wants to play he’s looking for a cup. Tampa, pit, philly, vegas, St. Louis. Maybe even Vancouver could lure him in if markstrom leaves
