NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Could just roll with the whatever players are left and just have a similar style, modified format... if that's even possible through Fantrax

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
It's the same reason we don't play on during the actual playoff...we'd lose chunks of everyone's roster if we kept going as teams got eliminated. It would be great if we could keep going but it's just not feasible.
That being said, this would be a fun format to compete in a playoff pool. 24 teams left gives you so many draft options. We could do something with a group if there's a site that will have that.
A bracket challenge seems tricky to do unless they start once they eliminate 8 teams.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
So the only question remains would be final standings and then the lottery. Do we go win% like the NHL is proposing or do we just use our standings as everyone plays equal games in BBKL.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
If the playoff teams still wish to hold the playoffs, we could run the final 3 rounds of our playoffs during the first 3 weeks of next NHL season. It would run alongside our own season, where the playoff matchups would not count for that seasons standings. Seems simple enough. The only issue would be players retiring. It's the only way I can see it happening.
Anyway, let's get this draft underway all ready. Yeehaw!
I don't want to spend a summer month stuck to my phone drafting. May as well do it when everyone is basically quarantined (right now).

New York has a second round pick, and a few late picks. Doesn't seem worth holding up an entire draft over.kyuss wroteCOLONgo get that missing NYI GM then!

Well, if we're close to getting hockey back, maybe there will be more interest.

Tony, there's a team opening available if you're interested. The guy who vacated was an amazing GM and has left it in superb condition for you.

To be open, I quit due to severe depression while also dealing with a family trajedy. I have a long history of mental illness and it has its ups and downs. If no one is taking over, I can keep the team for a while - I don't care. Just know I'm dealing with shit here and there...

Tony, we'd love to have you around but if there's more pressing needs in life that need more attention, we understand. This league is meant to be a fun escape but not an obligation. Take care.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Sorry to hear that Tony, but yes, we'd be happy to have you stay on with us.
And thanks for being so honest and up front, that can't be easy.

You're missed around here, and you have our support. Thank you for being so open with us - that's a hard thing to do.
Come back if you want, but do know that you're wanted back.

Do you think by then the play in games are completed and lottery is normal? Or do they go 8 team lotto.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I guess it depends on if they consider those 24 teams to all be ineligible for the lottery. That would leave just 7. Or do they take the 8 teams eliminated in the "play-in" round and make that the field of 15.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I don't think that they could do that. What if there is an upset and Tampa wins the lottery? That would cause all sort of shit.Shoalzie wroteCOLONI guess it depends on if they consider those 24 teams to all be ineligible for the lottery. That would leave just 7. I'll fill in for the draft and go from there... If someone happens to have interest taking over as GM, by all means let them.Shoalzie wroteCOLONTony, we'd love to have you around but if there's more pressing needs in life that need more attention, we understand.
