I “feel” for his brother. He didn’t say too much in the chat and is now booted off his uni team due to his brother being a clown. If this wasn’t involving an NHLer he’d face limited to no consequences.

While talk of an early June draft has quieted somewhat in the last week, that doesn’t mean the idea is dead. According to The Hockey News’ Ryan Kennedy, an NHL general manager told him that the league has been consistently telling teams that they will have at least one month’s notice before the draft, meaning that the original projected date of June 5 isn’t going to happen. The earliest the league could put a draft together would be mid-June. Of course, with many general managers resisting an early draft, it remains completely up in the air, meaning it could happen soon or in the October/November time frame.

So that's good for us. We need what 3 weeks? When the NHL makes their announcement then we can make ours with one weeks notice...

Minus the fact that we don't know the draft order for us yet? hopefully that's been figured out by the CC.

The only reason we'd do a draft earlier than normal is a situation like this. We do the June 1 thing annually because we know the NHL's draft usually goes off near the end of June and we try to get ours in before they start. We just need them to tell us a start date and we'll make sure we schedule enough time to do ours. Most of the decisions have been made on our end.
The positives of a later draft is that more draft guides and information will be available to us. Most draft guides aren't out until late May or early June ahead of the typical draft. The Hockey News guide is free to download but all of the other major guides aren't out yet. The later we can do our draft, the better.

Re: NHL Draft
“So, it’s one of a number of things we’re working on,” said Daly. “And when I say working on, when we’re talking to the clubs we’re discussing it in more detail. We want to understand their concerns, we want to understand the pros and the cons. So there’s no rush on our end. Particularly with where we think the earliest we can play in, we have a window to fit the draft in if we wanted to go in that direction. And when we get to the end of that process, whenever that is, we’ll make a decision. But we’re not there yet. I do anticipate, obviously, at some point, whether it’s this week or next week, probably more likely next week, you’re going to have to make a decision. But nothing is imminent.”
first possible date is June 19th I guess

That's kinda unusual but if the 24-team thing is true, then clubs like the Senators would be done.
Whatever they decide to do, it's going to be weird and different and for fans that want to complain that it's not traditional...what do you want from these major sports leagues? The stick-up-their-ass hockey fans that cling to tradition...I say take what you can get and hopefully we return to the real normal eventually. Give me neutral site empty arenas if it means live hockey on TV. They want to return and give us hockey...it's the least that they can do since we lost a season to a lockout. Obviously, I hope it can be done safely.

They've leaked the proposed format...
Teams 5-12 in each conference play a best-of-5 play-in. They'd have a proper 16-team playoff after that. Save your King Solomon-esque takes...this sounds crazy and fun. Where's my popcorn?
...as long as it's safe.

I would think we're done with our season. We'd move into the offseason immediately.

We could only play on if all 31 teams were still in action. The unfortunate byproduct to all this is no true champ in our league but we've been bracing for that.
