Well, I guess college free agent signings can continue since the contracts don't start until 2020. Could we see still any contract extensions?

Penguins signed Lee from Western Michigan, the Sabres sign Biro out of Penn State (someone that Pegulas are probably familiar).

Sounds like my guy Nick Wolff from Duluth is signing with the Bruins. I have a few undrafted prospects I've been sitting on that hopefully will find pro gigs. I might not have much skin in the 2020 draft but having some of prospects signing contracts is decent consolation.

Sens player the first nhler to test positive

Saw that late last night before bed. Also came out when Durant and a few other Nets players tested positive. The connecting of the dots mentioned how the Sens and the Nets both went through Staples Center around the same time.

This is why the NHL and the NBA can't just return whenever they want. With shared arenas, they need to be extra careful on top of whether they do this with fans in attendance.

Seeing pro wrestling be done with no crowds in small venue on TV...I would've loved it if the college hoops tourney could've been held at a small gym with no fans because why use a full-sized facility for that? Hell, for the Stanley Cup playoffs, do it at a nice community rink. You don't need high capacity...you just need good ice and decent locker rooms.

It would still be weird to have fans at these games so until it's safe enough to do that, then why bother?

Out of that Hobey list, Michaelis signed with the Canucks today along with drafted prospect Will Lockwood out of Michigan. Swayman is a Bruins draftee...he signed along with Nick Wolff.

These ELC signings seem to be the only hockey news we'll get for a while.

Not exciting but more prospects have been signing their ELC for next year. Doesn't give us a lot to chew on but it's something. I'm updating my contract database every day or so.

I was happy to see several weeks ago that NHL.com finally has their stats exportable to Excel. That'll be helpful for my various sheets. I want to do more with stats in some form.

CapFriendly has the initial UFA list up on their site. Not a lot of flash but the best of the best are going to have long term deals. I guess Pietrangelo is the best of the class for now.

I think Colby Cave being placed in a medically induced coma due to a brain bleed wins me the wtf injury of the year.

Saw that on Twitter...what actually happened?

I haven't found any specifics.

Brain bleed developed overnight. Emergency surgery had a colloid cyst removed that was putting pressure his brain.

Mark Spector just tweeted Colby Cave passed away. His wife's posts on social media were heartbreaking hoping he'd wake up. My condolenses to her and their family.

RIP Colby. You were a great BBKL Hawk while you were with us.
