Ok so players like McKeown, who are covering for injuries can go down at a later date but had a better change of passing through now

Definitely Horvat.
Leadership group has been named as Horvat, Edler Tanev and Sutter.
If they were gonna name one of the older vets captain. We wouldn't have waited a year and a half to name one.

Dahlstrom to the Jets makes sense...that defense is in shambles. I'm not sure of the goalie situation in Arizona with Comrie other than Raanta is a bit of an injury risk. Are they rolling with 3 goalies?
Raanta currently injured/making his way back again. Some issues with Adin Hill i guess otherwise he'd be the 3rd goalie. Will hold 3 until Raanta returns, then Comrie will be gone

Yep...pretty brutal
Why is this brutal? He's playing the guys he thinks give him the best opportunity to win. Spezza was being healthy scratched at the end of last season by Dallas too. He shouldn't be gifted a spot.

It's a pretty special game to Spezza and he's playing Friday. There's no reason why he couldn't just be scratched then instead.
- signs a league minimum deal to play for his hometown team
- home opener
- facing a team he spent more than a decade with
- probably has a ton of friends and family at the game
It's embarrassing.

Let's be real, he wanted to play for his home town team but wouldn't have done it if they didn't have a cup contending roster because ultimately he's chasing a cup not the opportunity to play in Toronto

This. Just scratch him Friday for the rest of the year for all I care. Classless move by a classless organization.
