The Ducks still have 10 million in cap space.

Just a follow up from a credible source, James Murphy, Bruins beat writer.

Quote:
In non-Kovalchuk news, source told me this weekend that Marc Savard "never" waived no-movement clause as reported earlier this summer.

Separate source did tell me that if he was asked to now, "he probably would" because he's unhappy with trade rumors.

I dunno dude, some VERY reliable and well known sources were reporting that he had waived, not just your team writer...remember his contract requires that he names 3 teams...and that it switched to a full NTC this year... so perhaps that is being interpreted different ways.

I'm guessing it's somewhere in between. Savard probably made it clear he would waive without actually declaring as much to Chiarelli.

Well this is Murph's reply on HF when someone called him out about his source...

What's to say someone hasn't?

Savard is in hiding and hasn't returned a call/email all summer..some from teammates. Trust me, at least in my case, I completely agree with you! But this is all he and his agent have allowed us to work with!

He is quite a reliable guy. He is employed by NESN and they are amazing when it comes to hockey.

No they don't, the Ducks have an internal cap.

mr. bruin wroteCOLONYep, everyone else is always the idiots. The NHL is full of natural centers playing wing. Most up and coming prospects in any given draft year are natural centers. If every centerman drafted was forced to play center the wings would be empty on alot of teams. What was Simon Gagne? He had a terrible career on the wing...Think before you speak.
Ugh...I feel like I'm getting dumber by arguing with you. We aren't discussing just any center here, we are discussing one of, if not the best center prospects in the world today. You cannot compare his situation to Simon Gagne; Gagne was nowhere near as talented as Seguin at the same age, not to mention that he was undersized for the positition as a teenager.

It's one thing to move an average to good centerman to the wing, it's quite another to move a potentially great center to the wing. Simply put Seguin is more valuable in the middle than on the wing, this isn't a revolutionary new theory. Going forward no one on the Bruins roster is good enough to justify moving this type of talent to the wing. The only teams that could justify such a move are Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Lastly, I'm not speaking, im typing...Perhaps you should think before you type.

No I know that. But I don't think they would have signed Selanne for 4.25 if they weren't planning on Ryan @ approx. 5mil.

His cap hit in our league is 4.25 in reality he'll likely make less depending on the bonuses. Also there is some room for bonus cushions under the cap and moving them to another year. So they still have more space then that even, leaves room for Ryan under their likely internal cap. Does it leave room for the defender they need, or maybe kariya? Not sure about that.

Also look up Anaheim's Defense under Bob Murray (Current) vs Brian Burke. Burke had it easy with some guys on entry deals, and Scott retired, but still.

I think you mean 4.5M and the 36+ bonus cannot be deterred.... needs to be planned for, as I believe its a controlled bonus, GP & TOI; no performance benchmarks allowed.

Something is holding the signing of Ryan up... I personally don't think Teemu signing is an indication of their plan regarding Bobby.

The Bonus is added to their cap to start the season, the second he can't make one of them (due to injury etc.) It is removed from their cap. Maybe give them room if hes hurt to do a deadline deal - depending how the season is going.

Ryan is really confusing, both sides seem to be stuck I'm curious to whats holding it up.
