Even without a championship, he's got the numbers to get into the Hall of Fame. Plus, he's got the resume in international play. I don't think he'll be just labeled as a "compiler" because he played until he was 40. He won a lot but he lost a lot but he was also on some really bad teams. Only 7 playoff appearances in 18 seasons. To be fair, if you put a guy like Luongo in the Hall...why isn't a guy like Curtis Joseph not in?

That's stupid. You pay Marner period. He is already likely a top 10 player in the league at age 22.

He's fair game. This ridiculous notion that you shouldn't make offers on other teams rfa's is ridiculous and borderline illegal. It's essentially collusion to suppress the market. If team's don't want to pay their star players, then there is nothing wrong with another team swooping in and showing him the cash. And if the Islanders do sign him? Talk about the irony in that 1 year after JT slithered his way out to Toronto.

JT will make whoever linemates better.. marner is a stud but I think the leafs would be as legit in offense as long as they can do better in defense.
