Right, throw that on the pile as well. They're an absolute mess.

The West is bizarre...there are teams who are absolute disasters and somehow no one is more than 5 points out of the wild card mix. 50 points in the East has you 13 points back in the wild card. The bottom teams in the East are flirting with dropping to 15-20 points out of the playoffs.

The parity in the West might screw up the trade market unless some teams are wise enough to realize that they don't gain anything from making the playoffs. Sell even if you're within shouting distance.

It's not that they were losing...they were getting humiliated. Any sign of life now and they can get back in the wild card hunt. Somehow the entire Western Conference is still alive.

Seems to me that the make potion has been to turn to a rookie goalie...don't know if a coaching change necessarily does the trick. This is the 5th coaching change in the West. The Flyers and Blues have turned around their seasons but it seems that Binnington and Hart get more credit than Berube and Gordon. Stable and confident goaltending does wonders for a struggling team.
