Really the only difference is how much Oleksiak is earning, he's on a $2m deal now and was on < $1m when Pittsburgh originally acquired him

Absolutely love this leaf pickup. Been a huge Muzzin fan since his Greyhound days. He is going to be loved in Toronto. Babs must be grinning from ear to ear.

Agreed. Is a nice feeling to have a solid 4 defenseman, finally.
I wouldn't actually mind using A. Johnsson to nab another RD, with term, as well.

Huge pickup for the leafs. Biggest thing is Zaitsev will now be on the 3rd pairing. Also, Gardiner likely gone in the off season based on this. Unless Dubas finds a way to get rid of Zaitsev’s contract.

It's a near guarantee the Leafs roll with this:
Rielly / Muzzin
Gardiner / Zaitsev
Dermott / Hainsey
Muzzin has played on the right side for the majority of this season and it makes way more sense to bump down Hainsey at even strength. Zaitsev stinks, but I think he'll be kept with Gardiner for now. Dermott's numbers alongside Hainsey are great (as are his numbers with basically everybody) so the above pairings make the most sense to me.
