He can take Gardiner with him
-5 on the night and single handedly responsible for atleast 3 goals.

For fans with a vested interest in teams outside the playoff picture, Sportsnet presents the 2018 NHL Draft Lottery on Saturday, April 28 on Sportsnet, CBC and Sportsnet NOW. The NHL Draft Lottery special, hosted by Daren Millard and NBC’s Kathryn Tappen, will unveil the lottery results through the course of the evening. Picks 15 through 4 will be revealed during Hockey Central Saturday beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT, with the top three picks unveiled during the second intermission of the San Jose vs. Vegas game.
Holy fuck the NHL is a joke.

Matthews pretty much played a meh game. Didn't score, didn't get scored on. Not what you want out of your superstar for sure.
The Leafs should be much improved next year once we trim some useless fat: Komarov, JVR, Gardiner, Leivo.

Well, that was stressful. Leafs owned that game till 2nd intermission. Matt Gryzlyk said Chara basically came into the dressing room and went ape shit and screamed in every persons face and that just got the whole room going nuts. Love to see that speech. I really do not like this seeding system. I just think what is the reward for finishing 2nd/3rd in reg season just to be eliminated first round. I am referring to the economic side of it. I mean the 2nd round is pretty epic this year with every team advancing having over 100 pts but i still dont like it. I like 1 v8 2 v 7 etc...

Vegas succeeding this early is a little embarrassing for the league... they're my 1b and I feel a little guilty saying so, but fuck it. I've suffered for 27 years... new fans/locations have to pay their dues. I fear if the suck next year, all these new fans with unrealistic expectations will bail.

It really is an indictment on the other GMs. Imagine how easy it would have been for any team to acquire these players that teams were most willing to lose

Or it's just a fluke season with an extraordinary set of circumstances. They wouldn't be the 1st team in history to rally around the misfit mantra and put it all together for one year and then fade into the abyss.
