Your right they do Nick. I think the Oil will be so dynamic and exciting to watch. I can give a more detailed description of the B's.

Most likely lines to begin season. A deal will have to be made before Sturm can return from injury as the team is presently over the cap. This is my guess as I can see Krejci starting to take over that top line center role.

Lucic-Krejci-Horton
Seguin - Savard - Wheeler
Recchi-Bergeron-Ryder
Paille-Campbell-Thornton

Sturm(IR), Marchand, Caron, Colborne?

Chara Boychuk
Seidenberg Hunwick
Ference Stuart
ex. McQuaid, Alexandrov?

This would also be a very dynamic lineup.

Lucic - Savard - Horton
Wheeler - Krejci - Seguin
Recchi - Bergeron - Ryder
Paille-Campbell-Thornton

But next season Sturm and Ryder will be gone so the doors open up for the young guys like Colborne and Caron if they don't make it this season. I am drooling over the possibilities...

Caps prospect retires:

Former Caps prospect Eric Mestery retires
In a bit of odd summer news, former Washington prospect Eric Mestery has decided to retire from hockey because "the game was no longer fun for him," according to the general manager of his WHL team, the Tri-City Americans. Mestery was a second-round draft pick in 2008; the Capitals cut ties with him in June.

The 20-year-old Winnipeg native asked that he not be traded, according to Tri-City Americans GM Bob Tory, who said Mestery "informed me that the passion and commitment needed to play at this level was gone."

Holy weird off-season.

Things could still get really exciting in the coming weeks.

Kaberle Trade
Canucks got some deals to be made, Cody? Kevin?
Boston & NJD need to sort out their cap
RFA's left to sign: Bobby Ryan, James Neal, Marc Staal, Chris Stewart, Peter Mueller, Carey Price, Sam Gagner, Martin Hanzel, Bryan Little, Christian Hanson, Steve Downie, Nicklas Bergfors, Patric Hornqvist, Cody Franson...wow.... :D

Hopefully the Kovalchuk ruling (due between today and monday night I believe) opens the flood gates and teams make some unexpected decisions.

Bruins are ok. Sturm is on LTIR until mid Nov at least so that is 3.5 off the cap. Something will have to be done for him to be able to return.

mr. bruin wroteCOLONI am pretty sure i posted this same quote like 4 months ago and got totally lambasted. Everyone in here knows better than the actual coaches and GMS of real NHL teams. :?
Your still an idiot, and apparently so are the Bruins...It's hilarious that they would move a natural centerman with top flight potential to the wing, irregardless of who they already have on the team. It is on par with moving a good young SP to a relief role to start his career. That type of change, and instability seldom produce the desired results.

facey wroteCOLONIt's still baffling to me. Tyler is such a natural centre... or at least appeared to be IMO. And the word out of Edmonton is Hall to centre, focusing on face-off related drills and stuff...

Oilers:
Hemsky-Gagner-Penner
Eberle-Hall-MSP
Jones-Horcoff-Brule
Jaques-Fraser-Stortini
-MacIntyre-
??? Cogliano is outsikis ???

Still... I'm loving the Bruins, something like:
Lucic - Savard - Recchi
Seguin - Krecji - Horton
Sturm - Bergeron - Wheeler
Paille - Marchand - Ryder
**Reich, Sauve, Thornton**

both of those teams have exciting times a-comin.
Smart move by Edmonton, baffling move by Bruins (even if it is only temporary). Moving a talented young forward to the middle is always the best move assuming they can handle it, a #1 centerman trumps a #1 winger every day of the week (all things being equal).
