What do you mean?? Why would they too??
One of the opening shots had the jumbotron blacked out. Didn't see it happen again.
Oh ok, I didn't catch the game so never saw what you were speaking of.

I'd think its a question of broadcasting rights, its likely not that Sportsnet wanted to block out the jumbotron, but probably Rogers refusing to allow Sportsnet to display their 'likeness' or product on live TV. I also didn't see it so not sure what exactly took place.

I watched it from end to end last nite
What a game...yes its ONE (and first) game. BUT One where history was made so i feel compelled to write about it.
Its been rare for me to watch a leaf game thru last 4 yrs but a lot of that "yea not this yr again.. gonna be the same" mentality dwindled down a bit
As we can see we cant sustain leads still. Its goaltending and defense
Zaisev looked mature and poised from years of pro hockey at young age - just not there yet in terms of NHL field experience
Rielly is gonna do what he does best - move the puck. He has the elite puckmoving traits all over him however thats not the only required skillset in defense
Marner tries hard. I mean super hard - he is FAST...
He can be 5 steps late and can still catch up to headway passes because he will just manually catch up to it using pure youth and speed.
He wants to be everywhere and tap in all passes and one time it all - work on ur positioning and think 5 steps ahead and you will be a fine sniper in nhl soon

I thought Zaitsev was better than Rielly last night, and I own both, so I'm not being bias.

Sportsnet is owned by Rogers though I thought

Aside from the pass to Matthews, IMO Rielly had a very quiet and boring game, not a difference maker and not to be confused with a problem. However I agree with Steve that Zaitzev was our strongest dman last night and I think that shows with Babs playing him almost 24minutes. Only play I thought wasn't great was the non-icing call and goal from Turris, not that the mistake was his, mostly Kadri lax.

I thought kadri was the worst leaf last night.

Kadri is shit. Never liked him. But hopefully with the focus off him he can produce.

Gerbe indeed to Geneve-Servette (NLA), eventually signed a 3yrs deal after getting cut from Rangers and clearing waivers

Yeah, at least I can take him off my bench and stash him away in the minors. Skille finally signed yesterday as well.

injury updates are so freaking frustrating. Smith on bench because he was expected to go on short term injury, played like half the game, 5pims, 4sog, almost 3shtoi.
Jokipakka supposed to be in for flames, last second Grossman is in. just missing gp like crazy on a shortened week. going to go 0-48 to start, gotta love magnitude of a bad week.
Back On topic: I like the rakkel deal, i think he's a wicked player.

Lazar - conditioning stint
Gudas - suspension
Kane - 3 cracked ribs
Polak - scratched
Hoping my team is good enough to still win with 4 holes in my lineup.

haha, I could probably play with 4 less players all season and still make the playoffs.

Buffalo is a clear cut 3rd favourite next to toronto and nashville in terms of roster quality depth
