Logically I feel we are in it too, but every single media source is reporting to the contrary. That said, how often is the media right in these instances? I remember Kovalchuk was already being dubbed a King last off season, or a few seasons ago when Detroit came out of nowhere to sign Marion Hossa. Hopefully we pull off a similar surprise because we need Brad Richards in the worst kind of way.

Watch Winnipeg sign him. Devils came out of left field for Kovy....

He aint signing here.. we as Leafs fans should be used to this disappointment.

I have no idea where Leafs fans used to get the idea players want to come to Toronto.. for the most part it's just simply untrue. The pressure, added stress, and losing tradition is very very undesirable.

It was a sick contract 3 years ago, now it is fair market worth; I know you disagree, but Kaberle isn't even close to the player he was. I said it all of last year, and I stand by it, Kaberle is the reason our power play was so poor the last two seasons, he holds onto the puck too long, and utilized his team mates, particularly phaneuf poorly. It is one thing to slow the pace down when you are a shooting threat, but with Kaberle it just gave the opposing pk unit time to set up and play the puck carrier aggressively. Which is especially detrimental on a quick moving pp. It is no coincidence that our pp and Dion Phaneuf improved post trade deadline.

Paul Maurice runs a different pp than either Wilson or Julien, and the spotlight won't be so bright in Carolina. Hopefully Kaberle fairs better there, because IMO he was a detriment the past season and a half.
