Here's how out to lunch I am... I think this is a solid trade. Ennis could be a C by end of year, or could be a W. Either way he'll likely be worth more after another year of development. Kid is super skilled with a hockey IQ through the roof, the closest comparable IMO is Giroux, however I think Tyler lacks the dirty aspect that helps Claude.


Now. Clarkson's hits, PIMS, & goals probably make him the safer BBKL piece and one that would suit many teams more. However if a team was to pair Ennis with other similar players they'd be taking more categories than the clarkson style build. Add in the cap savings and it's a pretty logical deal. Easy to over-value David I think.

You only know this is a solid trade cuz I hesitated doing Burns for Ennis straight and IMO Burns > Clarkson
