Who have you guys liked? Disliked? & not noticed?

Murray IMO has stood out - no issues, clean reads, nice easy plays every time, all day.
Harrington -> sick awesome and exceeded my expectations. New foot speed and read on the game then last I saw.

Dumba is not making nice passes or decisions with the puck.
Hamilton is hit and miss, disliked his game right until the Goal (beauty shot), and he followed it up by joining the rush nicely - still having trouble on D though.
Ouellet sucks.
Reinhart is slow and the 3 times i've noticed him he's been beat out of the corner.
Reilly is hesitant to skate, but damn he's definitely the best passer on our blueline. Almost a game costing play....
The PP with him and Dumba looks much better then Murray & Hamilton.

Strome -> ugh ugly.
Hudon -> so many plays end with him or Strome it's insane.
Jenner -> as expected/previous viewings.
Sutter -> slow
Monahan -> awesome awesome awesome.
Hubedreau -> easily the most offensively capable player on our team, lots of nice plays, bad shots though. Reminds me of Spezza TBH.
Schiefele -> wow beautiful stick handling, nice rushes -> forcing passes and not shooting.
Other forwards looks strong but not making great plays - strong on the boards is def a team trait.
Wilson needs to get in the game, waiting for it to come to him.

The big Russian forwards have outshown their canadian opponents IMO.

How's Zlobin been for Russia? I'll be honest, I didn't watch much of this at all lol.

I've been sad that I traded Mark the last couple of months. :(

Murphy, Ceci and another dman did not dress.

Z has been good, failed to convert on all alone in front of net after (one of many) nice plays by grigs

Makes sense, otherwise I'm sure it would have just been people saying Murphy is the next Bobby Orr.

Rielly was tremendous, once the game progressed he started to dominate. He made a great diving play and was fasttttttt as usual.

Although I agree he improved throughout the game... that diving play was him recovering form being out of position. I would not say he dominated and once we had switched to a pure D game - he definitely wasn't very useful, two failed clears and a lost corner battle. Once we were pure shutdown, Murray continued to be awesome, of course Harrington +Jenner were in their element & surprisingly Hubedreau really looked comfortable to me.

But I tell ya, playing anything but high-pressure versus the Russians sure seems silly to me - space + time is deadly with some of their shots. Yaks goal was elite as all hell, Grigs, Naumenkov on D & a few of the lesser known wingers (Slepyshev, Sigarev & Shalunov) really showed some offensive decision making.

IMO.

Best player in the game, by some margin, was Murray.

Grigs the #2. Impressive vision, crazy positioning and read, extremely strong against even out large defenders.

After that it's a mash of good & bad.
Yak, Reilly, Hamilton, Monahan all showed their high draft position with VERY high level plays, but each had some farts as well.

good 3rd line for Canada with Boone and Hudon + I think Lessio (weaker piece on the line TBH)
But you can see even the lower line Russians are opportunistic -> Zlobin and the S wingers I listed previously.

Subban was very good.

Goaltender Maxime Lagace, defencemen Dougie Hamilton, Xavier Ouellet and Griffin Reinhart and forwards Brendan Leipsic and Hunter Shinkaruk will not suit up for Canada tonight.

Reinhart is dealing with a stinger.

That's okay - Hamilton and Murray were terrible last game - actually outside of Dumba & Reilly I thought the whole d-core was having issues.

I agree Nick. Although I thought Rielly struggled a little bit. That said, I did not get to watch the whole game.

It is so unfair that: Dumba, Coyle and Granlund are going to be joining Parise and Suter in Minnesota next year. That team is going to seriously challenge Edmonton for the first dynasty post lockout in the coming years.
